Officers are elected by the Board of Directors and serve two-year terms (in the case of Commodore, Vice Commodore, and Rear Commodore) or one-year terms (in the case of Treasurer and Secretary)


Directors serve three-year terms, with a maximum of two consecutive terms.  Each year at the annual members meeting (usually held in August), three directors are elected (or re-elected). Note that if a Flag Officer’s term (i.e., Commodore, Vice Commodore, or Rear Commodore) extends beyond his or her term as a director, then they become Board members ex officio.

Get Involved - Volunteer Today


One of the best ways to get the most out of membership with Little Traverse Yacht Club is to get involved.  The yacht club has several outstanding committees and projects.  Pick one that you would enjoy participating with and simply contact the Committee Chairperson.  They will be glad to hear from you and to introduce you to other members working on that committee.


In addition, the following are available volunteer positions that are being actively sought.  Again, should your interest and energy provide you with the thought of participating in any of the following positions, please contact the related Committee Chairperson or our Club Manager, Daniel DeWindt (daniel@ltyc.org).

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Join the new communications committee! Whether you are creative or technical, youthful or mature, outgoing or looking for a behind-the-scenes role, there is room on this committee for you. Manage a social media account. Make flyers for events. Work on the website. Create the newsletter. Write press releases. These are just some of the roles available for those with communications expertise or those looking to learn new skills. Contact:  info@ltyc.org



RACE COMMITTEE

Assist the LTYC Race Officers on board the Edith I Committee Boat in conducting weekly races during the summer season.  Tasks include managing the starting sequence, noting finish times, registering complaint flags, assisting with anchoring, and tying up. Contact: rearcommodore@ltyc.org
