Beaver Island

Beaver Island Race  August  11-12, 2012

The annual Beaver Island Race is the only distance race sponsored by the LTYC. This is a point-to-point race that allows racing and cruising sailboats to compete in two divisions.  This island hopping event is friendly and relaxed compared to the UGOTTA  REGATTA. The first leg of the race starts in Harbor Spring on Saturday with the finish at the entrance to St. James harbor on Beaver Island. The scenery is awesome as the course follows the incredible north shore of Little Traverse Bay and out into the open lake for the crossing to Beaver Island. For the second leg of the race the next morning, the course is reversed with the start in Beaver Island and the finish in Harbor Springs.
