Racing

One of the major reasons for the founding of the Little Traverse Yacht Club in 1895 was to provide sailboat racing opportunities for its members and visiting yachtsmen.  LTYC continues that tradition today with a racing schedule providing excitement for the novice racer to the most experienced.

The LTYC signature event is the the annual Regatta–now in its 52nd year–bringing together racers from across the midwest and country to Little Traverse Bay.

LTYC provides one-design racing from June to  September for the unique Northern Michigan (NM) fleet as well as the highly competitive J/105 fleet. Tuesday night PHRF racing from June to September is divided into two divisions, one for spinnakers and one without including the fun to sail/race Alerion Express 28.  Don’t be shy . . . come and race for the fun, camaraderie and the hardware!
